Berlin
The center of the city of Berlin is 90 km from the competition site, and approx. 1 hour journey by car.
Since the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 9th, 1989, the city lived through a lot of changes. Shortly thereafter Berlin became the capital of the reunified Germany and the seat of the Lower House of German Parliament (Bundestag) and the Federal Government.
Some people appreciate that Berlin is energetic, colorful and full of surprises; others sense it as too hectic and gruff; others find it fascinating because of its ability to change its many faces like a chameleon. The differences are more obtrusive, conflicts more tangible and problems larger than elsewhere. Even those contradictions which characterize Berlin are part of its attraction. There is much to see and even more to discover: some of the highlights are Alexanderplatz, Potsdamer Platz, the Berlin Cathedral, the Brandenburg Gate, and the Zoological Gardens.
Berlin also offers a variety of entertainment and shopping: events & festivals, sports events, clubs and parties, shopping malls, there is something for everybody!
